I have overseen the rehabitation of the Salt Marsh. We planted Spartina - a grass that lives in saltwater. Their roots grew under the marsh, binding it together. At the same time, the cooling water pouring from the huge pipes was cleaned up.
As the salt marsh recovered, plants like saltwort or salicornia began to grow there. This has shiny, fleshy leaves and lives in clean saltwater.
I enjoy working outside but spend a lot of time planning projects and producing booklets and literature on the work we have done here.
