An oil field is an area where we find oil.
The largest oil field in the world is in Saudi Arabia. It is 70 kilometres long and 30 kilometres wide.
There are more than fifty oil fields in the North Sea, near Britain. Each field can have a number of platforms extracting oil and possibly some rigs drilling exploration wells.
There are also more than twenty gas fields off the Norfolk coast.
