Oil fields
Map of North sea oil fields
North Sea oil and gas fields.

An oil field is an area where we find oil.

The largest oil field in the world is in Saudi Arabia. It is 70 kilometres long and 30 kilometres wide.

There are more than fifty oil fields in the North Sea, near Britain. Each field can have a number of platforms extracting oil and possibly some rigs drilling exploration wells.

There are also more than twenty gas fields off the Norfolk coast.

The North Sea has over fifty oil fields. They are shown in brown. They all have names, like Brent and Beatrice. There is only room to show three names here.

Each field can have a number of platforms drilling for oil.

There are also more than twenty gas fields - shown in pale blue. Again, these all have names. Only Viking is shown here.
